Where It All Started: The Yoder Family Legacy

In 1958, Milton’s great-grandfather Simon Yoder settled in Todd County, Kentucky — part of the first Amish community ever established in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. That community became the cornerstone of Amish life in the region: a tight-knit network of farmers, craftsmen, and builders who believed that work done right the first time was work worth doing.

The Amish building tradition Simon Yoder was part of is not just cultural heritage — it is a philosophy of construction. Structures were built to last generations, not inspection cycles. That tradition passed from Simon to the next generation, and the next, and eventually to Milton.

Milton’s Journey: From Heritage to Craft

Milton Yoder grew up understanding that buildings are more than structures — they are commitments. He entered the construction industry in 2013, bringing that generational mindset with him. In 2023, Milton founded One Shield Construction in Clarksville, Tennessee. His goal was straightforward: bring the craftsmanship standard his family had held for over 60 years to the homeowners, ranchers, and business owners of Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.
